Augmented Reality (AR)

This section displays my Augmented Reality (AR)  projects, using  Lens Studio.

AR: Creating AR effects in Lens Studio (front camera experience, Face Lenses), 2D objects

This is a team project, to create some face lenses(front camera experiences) in Lens Studio, and make them respond to us. The pac-man and monsters were set up to follow my fingers, and the goggles were set up to stay attached to the face and follow the eyes as we move around. I created the pac-man and the two monsters, in Keynote and imported into Lens Studio as PNGs and did the settings so that it followed my fingers, whether I was visible or not (as seen in the pictures below). I also found a background on the internet and imported it as an HDR to create an effect. My team members did the rest.

AR: Lens Studio (back camera experience, World Lenses) with 3D models and 3D Animation - Weeping Angel [2:13]

This was a team project to incorporate 3D objects and animation into Lens Studio using back camera lens. We created a Weeping Angel (the 3D object) to follow one around and coded its movements. The further away it is from one, the more aggressive it is and closer it comes, the shyer it becomes, and it makes different sounds.  â€‹

I made and animated in Maya, the 10 3D body parts (3 rings, 6 wings and eyeball) so that all body parts could move. Other team members did the coding in Lens Studio to use my 3D animation, added the audio and the textures. I took an active part in the brainstorming of the idea and did the testing of the script in Lens Studio.

If you have Snap chat feel free to scan the QR code, turn on back camera and test the effect for yourself.

I edited the video of footage taken on Snapchat of AR experience with the 3D Weeping Angel character we created. I filmed about 2/3rd of the footage and edited this together with footage taken by team members.
